Scott Chaney: Solar Powered Glowing Ewaste Sculptures

DAYS: Saturday & Sunday

VENUE Green Route 5

Scott Chaney is a sculptor based in Pudsey, Leeds, who transforms discarded electronics into large-scale glowing figurative sculptures. Working with reclaimed circuit boards, broken phones and obsolete hardware layered over timber and steel armatures, his life-size figures are powered by solar energy and LED lighting, shifting from dense textured objects by day to illuminated presences by night.

His most recent work, RGB, was exhibited at Lightpool Festival Blackpool 2025, one of the UK’s largest light art programmes. He has also exhibited at Kirkstall Abbey and Bradford Industrial Museum, and delivers creative e-waste workshops for schools, museums and community groups across West Yorkshire.

Activity

Give it a go!

Visitors are invited to safely dismantle donated e-waste old keyboards, cables, circuit boards and add pieces to a collaborative temporary sculpture. Scott will meet, greet, demonstrate and guide the activity throughout the day. Suitable for all ages. Scott has delivered similar hands-on tech workshops at Bradford Industrial Museum and brings the same relaxed, welcoming approach to every session.
