Other special thanks to:
Our lovely volunteers who cut out nearly 200 wooden shapes for schools and groups:
Martin Jones

“I’m a father of three science teacher who spent ten years in the engineering industry prior to becoming a teacher.
I’ve always had a passion for tinkering with and making things particularly out of wood.
I’m also mega thrifty so everything I make is either out of pallet wood or other offcuts I can find lying around the place.”
Richard Hamlin and The Horsforth Community Shed Project

“The Horsforth Community Shed project is a place for people to connect, converse and create. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of people to enjoy together. Typically, it’s a bit of woodwork or metalwork using the appropriate tools in a safe environment.
They are about having fun, sharing skills and knowledge with like-minded people and gaining a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. They can help reduce isolation and feelings of loneliness, they allow people to deal with mental health challenges more easily and remain independent, they rebuild communities and, in some cases, they can save people’s lives.”
Our talented artists and creatives
Ste James
Ste has created our artwork this year for posters, social media posts, the maps and merch!
Ceri designed our website!
“I launched Carbon Art in 2019 alongside my website design business (Ceri Wood Designs) to champion my favourite medium – pencil. I love working in pencil and on a small scale to create striking artwork of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and describe my work as confidently understated in size but filled with detail, depth and texture. I’m excited to be taking part in the Walk of Art again this year displaying my artwork and really proud to have been able to help with creating the new website to showcase this fantastic local event.”

John from Luscinia Studio very kindly created our street sign logo for us into a workable format!! Its the little things here that make life massively easier!
After studying graphic design, moving image and animation at De Montfort University, I went on to produce award winning digital work for various creative agencies in and around Yorkshire.
With over 20 years in the digital design industry, this has helped to shape my process and provide insight into how my clients think. Understanding their needs is extremely important and helps me to create great products.
I set up Luscinia Studio after many years developing and understanding how creativity can help my clients to succeed. I produce simple, engaging, customer focused UX / UI, Design, Illustration and Animation for brands, digital and people.
